25th Anniversary Aramark SC4K Golf Classic: Event Highlights

On Monday, June 24th, 108 golfers gathered on a beautiful sunny day at the Chippewa Golf Course in Doylestown, Ohio to play in an 18-hole, scramble-format tournament. Presented by Dubick Fixture & Supply, these golfers were participating in the 25th Annual Aramark/SC4K Golf Classic, which raises funds to support the programs of Shoes and Clothes for Kids (SC4K). This longstanding event has raised over $1.4 million dollars to date!

Golfers arrived at 9 AM and enjoyed a light continental breakfast as they waited for all of the teams to check in. Near the patio at the main clubhouse, golfers could purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win one of the 15 amazing raffle baskets curated by SC4K. The items in these baskets were all donated by local companies and event sponsors and included prizes such as liquor, wine, gift certificates, golf bags, and more. Offered only at check-in, golfers could also purchase a Super Ticket for $50. This ticket included 24 raffle tickets, 2 mulligans, and 1 “Rory Drive” to be used on hole #11.

The tournament officially began at 10:30 AM and lasted until around 2 PM. Throughout the day, golfers had many opportunities to participate in fun contests that help raise additional funds for SC4K.

There were 3 hole-in-one contests, and the prizes included a Bermuda Trip for 2, a Las Vegas Trip for 2, and $5,000 cash. Golfers also had the option to place bets on some holes, entering contests such as Beat the Pro, Left/Right, On the Green, Straightest Drive, Closest to Pin Prize, & Longest Drive.

Lunch was provided along the course, featuring a hot dog bar, the Fucky Truckeria food truck (tacos & more), and a Chick-Fil-A sandwich station.

After 3:30, golfers met under the tent adjacent to the main clubhouse for the Awards Ceremony dinner. Prizes were awarded to the top 3 teams (Simple City, Tito’s, Jim Mason and Friends) along with Longest Drive (Connor Kenney), Straightest Drive (John Osgood), Closest to the Pin (Kevin Brown), and Longest Putt (Jim Petsock). Four framed photos of each golf foursome were also presented to participants at dinner, prepared by Photograpy by Tony.

The dinner presentation included remarks from Kevin Kearney, event chair and SC4K Board Member, and Monica Lloyd, SC4K Executive Director, followed by a check presentation to SC4K by Aramark and the pulling of the raffle winners. Winners who were present each posed for a photo with their prize. One lucky guest won an SC4K Swag Bag for guessing the value of a typical filled SC4K Teacher Cart. The cart’s actual retail value was: $1,711!

Many teams have sponsored the event for multiple years – including Chippewa Golf Club (24 years!), Dubick Fixture & Supply, Inc (12 years), Sheriff Phil Stammitti (20 years), Cleveland Cavaliers (19 years), Minotti’s (19 years) Anheuser Busch (9 years). SC4K Board Members present included: Kelly Rudloff, Kevin Kearney, Lamont Mackley, Jim Mason, Jim Petsock, Dennis Rose, Tyler Wynne, Jeff Miller, and Sam Friedman. SC4K Associate Board Members present included Adam Zahn & Jessie Jacobson.
