Meet Darlene Dobbins, an SC4K Teacher Shop Volunteer
Darlene has been helping at the Teacher Resource Center for years, and recently added direct service to her volunteer repetoire.
“I’m a retired elementary school teacher and working at the SC4K Free Store gives me the chance to see my fellow teachers and give back to the program that was so helpful to my students and me over the years.”
Meet Amy Nadler and Randy Fine, Weekly Volunteers
This brother and sister duo credits their parents, Irving and Gloria Fine, for raising them to see helping as a way of life. Amy and Randy stock items on our store shelves every Tuesday, and assist with other events and programs throughout the year.
We are so lucky to have volunteers like Amy and Randy who realize that just a few hours of their time can make a big difference to kids in need.
Amy and Randy were honored with the Morrie Sayre Award for Outstanding Volunteerism at the 2024 Party on South Waterloo event.
Meet Emmie Hutchison, Help 2 Others Student Volunteer Group Coordinator
Help 2 Others student summer camp attendees volunteered at the SC4K Free Store on multiple days this past summer to help SC4K prepare for summer distributions to partner organizations and families. The group made the trek from Lakewood to Collinwood and enjoyed touring the facility and types of items we provide for students in need who are their age (or younger!). Hear from one of the group coordinators, Emmie Hutchison:
"We've had great experiences at SC4K. Our staff members have come back with positive reviews. The SC4K program coordinator took the time to show us the facility, explain the organization's mission, and review the schedule for the morning's activities in detail. The SC4K staff was very welcoming and helpful!"
