Annual Appeals
Throughout the year, SC4K hosts fundraising campaigns to engage our current and new supporters in raising funds and awareness for our mission-driven work.
Kicks 4 Kids (March 15 - April 30)
By spring many new items kids receive for "back to school" are worn out and no longer fit. Kicks for Kids launches on National Shoe Day (March 15) to raise funds to purchase new shoes and shoe shopping passes so kids can choose their own shoes at local stores. The new "kicks" will replace their worn-out, outgrown shoes and students are prepared for the remainder of the school year and ready for spring and summer fun outside.
Back to School (July 15 - September 15)
Each year, SC4K prepares thousands of kids with the necessary items to head back to school in the fall. This campaign is dual purpose - a fundraiser to seek donations during a critical time of the year, the "back to school" season and a promotional campaign to leverage SC4K's communication channels. The funds raised by this campaign help us re-stock the shelves of the SC4K Free Store so famlies, teachers, and partners can help the students they serve be prepared on the first day and ready to learn all year!
Socks in the City (December 4- December 31)
New socks are one of the most requested items for children living in poverty. Clean, dry socks are needed all year long to keep feet warm and dry! Our year-end fundraising initiative kicks off on National Sock Day and provides an opportunity for you to turn your heart for giving into warm, toasty feet for children in need. Launched 2021, this campaign raises critical funds for socks and other new winter items for the kids we serve. Our Board and Associate Board participate in a fun challenge each year to see which group and individual fundraiser can bring in the most donations. Follow the hashtag #NationalSockDay to see how this camapgin has generated buzz over the years!
