Who We Are
Board of Directors
The SC4K Board of Directors consists of corporate and community leaders devoted to improving the lives of children in Greater Cleveland. The Board of Directors defines the organization’s mission, values, and vision by engaging in short and long-term planning for the organization. The board monitors fiscal management of the organization and maintains accountability to SC4K's funders and donors by reviewing and approving the annual budget, major program plans, and organizational policies. Its members ensure the staff has the resources necessary to operate effectively. The Board actively represents the organization to the public, especially to current and potential financial supporters. The board also serves as a voice for the distribution partners and individuals in the community that are served by SC4K. On a personal level, each board member participates actively in board meetings and volunteers on at least one board committee. Board members also make personal donations to the organization.

Associate Board
The Associate Board is a group of dedicated young professional volunteers who generate awareness and funds to support the work of Shoes and Clothes for Kids. By engaging our peers in events and activities that develop a link to Shoes and Clothes for Kids, we’re helping to ensure the viability of the organization now and in the future. One of the benefits of a group like the Associate Board is that it helps develop future philanthropic community leaders as well.
Founded in 2005, the Associate Board accomplishes its work by engaging its members and volunteers on project teams that coordinate volunteer recruitment & retention, fundraisers, and other events and communications activities.

Distribution Partners
SC4K works with a network of social service agencies in Greater Cleveland strategically located in Greater Cleveland in areas with the greatest need. Families receive SC4K products directly from our Distribution Partners. Distribution Partners pick up boxes of clothing and shoe passes from our warehouse. Partners then schedule distributions at their site, meet with families to determine eligibility, and distribute our products. The average distribution for clothing is valued at $350,000.00 and the average distribution of shoe passes is valued at approximately $26,000.00.

SC4K does not charge its Distribution Partners or its recipients any product or services.
Beyond serving the basic needs of thousands of deserving children, SC4K serves as a change agent for area families living in poverty. By providing new clothes and shoe passes through our Distribution Partner network, we connect these families with other important programs and services working to improve and enrich their lives. These programs include food pantries, GED education programs, resale shops, job placement, Head Start, daycare, immunization, etc.

Volunteers
With a small professional staff, volunteers are critical to the operation of Shoes and Clothes for Kids. Without volunteers, we would be unable to sort, pack, and distribute 2.3 million dollars worth of brand new shoes and clothes to thousands of children annually.
Volunteers also play an important role in governing the organization on our board and associate board, helping in the office, and assisting with all aspects of our special events.
