SC4K Hosts Back to School Bash to Connect Families with Free Resources for Students
The Back to School Bash was coordinated by Shoes and Clothes for Kids, in partnership with Anthem and MetroHealth, for the families at the Community Resouce Center in August of 2024.
With the help of several other community partners and non-profit organizations, SC4K provided access to free backpacks, school supplies, diapers, health and vision screenings, haircuts, food, and other resources to help kids and families prepare for going back to school.
Volunteers, including a large employee group from The Riverside Company and a handful of dedicated community members, helped make the event fun and successful. From staffing registration tables and directing parking, to making cotton candy, serving as the emcee, and breaking down the event at the end of the day, these great volunteers helped our small staff carry out this busy day.
Overall, 536 people from 170 families from 32 communities across Northeast Ohio attended the event and were able to access the resources and enjoy a fun day. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making our first Back to School Bash a great day for Shoes and Clothes for Kids and the families we serve!
